This 1967 Airstream Safari is a client's trailer, in for an exterior makeover.
The interior
(click here for a few pictures) is almost completely original - right
down to the seafoam green bath.  The owners did a great job installing new
hardwood floors, new upholstery, curtains - the works.  They were not,
however, interested in tackling the exterior polishing - that's where we come in.

The photos below track our process - clearcoat removal, cleanup and polish.
After the polish is complete, the entire trailer is coated with a sealer wax.
Before...
Prior to removing the clearcoat
with a chemical stripper, all of the
painted surfaces and plastic
components - lights, etc. need to
be masked off.  Once the
clearcoat is gone, the trailer gets
a bath, then it goes inside the
shop for a two-step polish/wax
process
The International badge, and anything
else that might interfere with the polish
process, gets removed, cleaned and
reinstalled after polishing.  This also
ensures that the entire skin gets
stripped and polished.  Again, the
painted stripe gets masked to avoid
damaging the paint.
Before getting into stripping the entire
trailer, we do a sample strip/polish to
evaluate the "shine potential" of the
aluminum skin.

This one is going to shine!
Delivery Day...
Polished, detailed and two applications
of sealer wax, and it's ready to roll.

Enjoy the photos.
