1959 Airstream Flying Cloud 22'. The original floor plan and window layout is
slightly off of the standard Flying Cloud plan, so it likely was customized for
the original buyer.  California built, but sold new by an Ohio dealer.

The interior is in better than average condition for its age.  The floor is solid,
as is the frame.  Exterior is pitted (as usual) but is polishing nicely.  This will
be a TrailerWorks Restoration, not a re-creation.  The interior will be as it
was in 1959, but completely redone with new appliances, plumbing,
upholstery, fabrics, etc.  It even has the Astro Dome!

If you are looking for an ultra-original Airstream, this may be for you.
Completion is scheduled for mid March.  Email for pricing and other
information.
A few Before pictures...
The Galley

Mahogany cabinetry and Zolatone
walls - its a '58 all right. The
countertops will be new Formica,
the sink reconditioned with new
enamel, and the woodwork repaired
or replaced and refinished.

The gas light fixture is intact and will
be refurbished.
More Galley...

The refrigerator is dead and not
worth keeping, so it will be replaced
with new.  The gas heater will be
replaced with new, as will the wall
panel behind it.  Wood and water
don't mix...
The Bath

The vanity and sink are in great
shape - new countertop and
cabinet hardware will really
spruce this area up.  Original
sink to remain, but the faucet
and shower assembly will be
new.  The tub will get a new
gelcoat finish.
And now...
Wow, just like that, it's empty.  I
wish it were that easy.  Lots has
happened already.  Floor and
frame repair, new subfloor and
some heavy-duty Zolatone
cleaning.  The cabinets are in
the woodshop and are going to
refinish nicely.  See the sample
below.
The bath.  Or some of it,
anyway.  This shot shows how
well we can restore old
Zolatone.  It is pretty tough
stuff, so it comes back to life
nicely.  Can you tell where we
cleaned?  Talk about an ad for
not smoking...

Also, the new subfloor is in
place, and the mahogany
cabinet face frame is stripped
and almost ready to refinish.
The Galley

Or what will soon be the
galley, again.  The
Zolatone is still to be
cleaned, but the cabinets
are stripped and ready to
be refinished.
