Display Trailer
When Ray from Shutter Elite emailed us about building a display trailer to use
as a rolling showroom to showcase his custom window blinds and shutters, we
jumped at the chance.  We love to create, and commercial projects like this are
rapidly becoming a favorite.

Initially, we discussed building his trailer out of something larger, but after a bit
of discussion about how the trailer would be brought to clients' homes (and into
some fairly tight driveway spaces), we decided to go with something smaller - a
1966 Airstream Caravel.

After a visit to our shop, and a subsequent flurry of email, we settled on a plan.
The idea was to create "benches" along the sides of the trailer, which will have
vertical supports added by the client to mount the various types of shutters and
blinds.  Contained in these benches are storage and file drawers for marketing
materials.  Additionally, there is a small upholstered lounge in the front of the
trailer for clients to sit comfortably and discuss the products Shutter Elite sells.
For creature comforts, we added a Carrier low-profile air conditioner, an AC/DC
refrigerator (hey, you gotta have snacks), Honda 3000 watt generator, custom
black Zip Dee awning and prewired for stereo and DVD player with a wall
mounted flat screen TV.  A set of cool trailer-rated whitewalls, chocolate-stained
cork flooring and a mirror-like shine add the final touches.

Ray has promised to forward pictures of the window blind displays and the
upholstery work he plans to do on the front bench.  Look for updated pictures in
June.

For now, check out our work.  Think your business might benefit from the
eye-catching appeal of a vintage trailer?  We'd be happy to discuss options.
